Mysterious Sci-Fi Game Announced For PS3 From the developers that brought you the PSP/PS2 title Crash Dummy Vs. The Evil D-Troit, Twelve Interactive has recently announced that they’ve signed up and signed on as official developers for the PS3. Included in the double announcement, was the unveiling of a super secret project currently in development for “Next-gen” consoles.

Unlike the Xbox 360 and Wii – where we know of a few games in store for us in the coming months and year – the PS3 has a lot of original IP shrouded in mystery. And it’s time to add another coal to the fire that burns Sony’s enigmatic software lineup for their next-gen console. While it’s exciting that Twelve Interactive has announced a new game in the making for next-gen consoles, it’s also slightly frustrating to know that we’ll have to wait ‘til the twelfth of who-knows-when to find out what the game is about. That’s assuming the game isn’t cancelled between now and the second quarter of 2007, due to cutbacks or cost cutting measures. Remember Majesco’s Black 9? How about Zootfly’s Hollow? Or what about Konami’s Apocalyptico? Exactly.

Hopefully the opposite is in store for the native Italian developers and their next-gen science-fiction title. Giuseppe Crugliano, Managing Director and founder of Twelve Interactive had some closing comments for the press release, stating that...“Our next project, (an undisclosed Sci-Fi action game for Next-Gen consoles), will benefit from the tremendous power of the machine, [The PS3] presenting us with limitless creativity/ideas. We are also confident about the great Sony support offered, that already has helped our company to improve our current title, Crash Dummy Vs The Evil D-Troit on PSP and PS2.”

  • Apparently everything will benefit from the power and glory of the Cell processor -- but Sony will have to survive until then. And customers will have to continue waiting and waiting and shelling out money just to see if they like it... way to go Sony, create confusion rather than a good gaming experience.
