The NPD Group has released the October retail figures for North America. The Wii continues to sell like some sort of warm pastry while critical darling Uncharted 2 smoked the competition on the software front.

The strong showing for Borderlands is a bit of a surprise, considering it's a new IP. 2K Games definitely gave it a good marketing push though so it managed to make a respective showing. It explains why Gearbox Software considers a sequel to be a "no brainer".
