OK, I’m just going to play this one straight, because no matter how badly I rip this, it won’t do it justice. Journalism skills don’t fail me now!

Crave Entertainment announced today that they will be publishing a game based off the Fox Searchlight film, Napolean Dynamite. The press release offers no details as to what type of gameplay the game will offer PSP/DS owners.

Aw, who am I kidding? I can’t leave this one alone.

What the hell? Crave seriously…When last I checked, Napolean Dynamite came out in 2004 and references to the movie officially became unacceptably lame by 2006. I can’t say for sure because I haven’t seen the game yet, but I find it extremely hard to believe that a PSP or DS game based on the IP would be able to further the film in any way, nor stand alone as its own entry.

Therefore we can reasonably conclude that this is a deliberate cash in by Crave to snag casual players who are easily swayed by an established name.

If repackaging Street Fighter 2 is the gaming equivalent to hitting on drunk girls at a frat party, then this is straight up date rape.
