In the last trailer for the Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, there was a brief run-through of the game’s features and functions, including the Autolog. However, given that the Autolog seems a little confusing at first glance, developers Criterion released a dev doc explaining exactly how the Autolog feature works.

Basically, it’s like the Facebook of Need for Speed…tracking player progress and achievements and posting the results to a player’s profile wall. In turn, friends can view these (or in some cases, get alerted) achievements and can choose to either compete against those scores/accomplishments or challenge the player directly in that race. It’s a neat little streamlined feature for true multiplayer competitive action.

You can check out the new video walkthrough for the Autolog below. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is set for release November 16th for the Xbox 360 and PS3. For more info be sure to visit the Official Website.
