New Book Chronicles LucasArts' History LucasArts has been around for over a quarter-century now and in that time they've managed to create some pretty great and some pretty not-so-great games. Curious how that happened? The new book Rogue Leaders: The Story of LucasArts provides a detailed history of the company - along with a lot of pictures for you word-haters out there.

Rogue Leaders contains never-before-seen interviews and "more than 300 pieces of concept art, character development sketches, and storyboards" from LucasArts classics like The Secret of Monkey Island and Grim Fandango. The book will also contain details of games that never saw the light of day. It was penned by Rob Smith, editor-in-chief of Playstation: The Official Magazine.

You can pre-order Rogue Leaders now through Chronicle Books' website. The release date hasn't been revealed. It costs sixty bucks but it's a large hardcover with over two hundred pages of full-color pictures so that's to be expected.

The book contains a foreword by George Lucas so I assume this isn't some scathing tell-all about designers doing lines of coke off their Full Throttle boot disks. It's really a celebration of the glory days of the company and should be a decent coffee table book for gamers.
