Sega's just released a new trailer for upcoming game The Conduit that's got a whole lot of shooting of the first-person variety. They also throw the gauntlet by claiming that the game is "the ultimate Wii first-person shooter."

The joke about the smartest kid at the Special Olympics came to mind when I heard the boast. The Wii is pretty damn lacking in the shooters department at the moment. Still, the game does look pretty good and maybe they'll be able to usher in a trend. If nothing else, this is one step toward correcting a deficiency in that genre for the Wii.

The Conduit will be released on June 9th in North America.
