New Legendary Screens - Pandora's Box Opening This SummerAuthor: Steve West

It’s no secret that I’ve been watching Gamecock closely. They have offered up potential in their approach to games publishing, and even had a decent release with Dementium on the DS. But the qualifier so far is that they haven’t proven themselves with a great AAA title. Right now Spark Unlimited’s Legendary is the frontrunner to fill the void. Unfortunately it is an FPS, and thus is a victim of the also-ran curse of the genre. It may be the next surprisingly fun shooter, or it could end up being Blacksite Area 51.
The story is a bit more interesting than your standard space marine fare. Charles Deckard (that’s you) is an art thief who steals Pandora’s Box. And we all know what happens when you mess with a box that is all mysterious: either your face melts off or you release mythical creatures into the world. Spark went with the werewolves this time around. “This is the project we want to be working on and it’s shaping up to be something amazing,” said Craig Allen, CEO of Spark Unlimited in a press release this morning. “Legendary is the type of game we want every gamer, regardless of system allegiance, to get the chance to play. We’re taking our time to ensure optimum performance, regardless of platform.” Legendary will be available this Summer on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. |
