Sony revealed today that new PS3 controllers are coming to the United States. Starting this fall, you'll be able to pick up Deep Red or Metallic Blue gamepads.

According to Engadget, the new controllers will arrive this October. This would've been a good tie-in for the Fourth of July but oh well. Guess you'll have to show your patriotism in some other way like paying taxes.

It's not clear whether they'll be available through select retailers and if it'll be a limited run. Also no word on whether the rest of the world will get them.
