The gothic, symphonic rock-band, Nightwish, is the musical centerpiece of the new teaser trailer for Piranha Bytes’ Risen. The trailer sets the music to some prophetic messages about growth, liberty and the ensuing forces of tyranny and chaos.

For those of you who don’t know, Risen is an action-RPG that features real-time combat, dynamic character development and lots large environments to explore. The game isn’t the best looking RPG to come along for consoles and PC but it does have a bit of that epic-storytelling panache that made Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion a classic open-world RPG.

The new trailer isn’t very long and doesn’t show off a lot of gameplay (not until maybe the last 30 seconds) but it does do a fairly decent job of showcasing what the world will look like and how the townsfolk go on about their day, etc. Again, it’s nothing special but worth checking out if you’re into these kinds of games.
