The virtual denizens of The Sims 3 are a lot different than their counterparts in previous installments. Not only are they prettier, but they're more ambitious, too. According to EA, they've got life goals.

One new gameplay feature added in The Sims 3 is called "Lifetime Wishes." They're long-term career goals that Sims choose based on whatever traits they possess. Based on the screenshots, it looks like they'll have some crazy dreams - the mad scientist pictured is a "Super Robot Cross Breeder". The pursuit of these Lifetime Wishes will give a little more structure to the game to players desiring it and attaining these Wishes will result in exclusive objects and traits being unlocked.

Once slated for a February release, The Sims 3 will now be released on June 2nd in North America and on June 5th in Europe.
