New Splatterhouse Screenshots Arrive Just In Time For Halloween

published: 2009-10-13 14:16:53
A lot of gamers may have forgotten about Splatterhouse but we didn’t. The game has been sitting on the shelf for almost an entire year but it’s now re-surfaced with some brand new screenshots and they’ve arrived just in time for Halloween.

Splatterhouse is now being developed in-house by the Namco Bandai of America team and based on the new screenshots, it looks like it’s sort of coming along nicely. And even though this is based on the 1988 arcade smash hit, this is nothing like the classic. According to the press release…
Embodying the unfiltered, primal aggression of its namesake, Splatterhouse gives players countless ways to decimate your enemies with extreme gore. Splatterhouse pulls no punches, taking gore and shock value to the next level with physics driven fluids and organs flying in all directions

That’s no lie about the physics-driven gib and gore. Players can actually lose body parts in the game and use them to fight with. Rick eventually regenerates his limbs over time, thanks to the Mask, but be ready to bring a barf bag with you because this is like a super-visceral horror-gore game.

You can check out the new screenshots below or visit the Official Website for more info on Splatterhouse. The game is due out in the third quarter of 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PS3. For more gaming news, updates and media, be sure to stay tuned in with Blend Games.
