It just wouldn’t be a “Day of the Ninja” if TeamNinja remained silent. They could have sent us some pretty screenshots of Ninja Gaiden II (they did), and call it a day. But not the team that made thousands of gamers grow a set of brass balls. No, they also unleashed a brand new, gameplay focused, trailer. It’s almost too much for me to handle.

I’ve played through all but the PS3 iteration of the original game, and loved every single moment. Itagaki has produced the pinnacle of action games, and the sequel is looking every bit as good. If a tad on the outlandishly bloody side. Now you can see how the blood flows when Hyabusa rends the flesh from lesser ninjas who challenge him.

Another item to note is that TeamNinja is already showing what looks to be nearly complete gameplay footage, which means the rumored summer 2008 release may come true. I’m holding out for a late spring release, the sooner the better when it comes to Ninja Gaiden II.
