Well, the chances of "Zii" being the name of the next Wii console are a lot slimmer than they were yesterday. It seems Nintendo has trademarked a whole lot of other silly names, too.

In addition to "Zii", Nintendo also filed trademarks for the terms "Cii", "Bii", "Yii" and "Oii" (via Engadget). The first three are on par with Zii and Wii in terms of ridiculousness. Oii, though? How do you even pronounce that one?

Just call the thing Wii 2, guys. Seriously. Or maybe Super Wii, in a nod to the NES/SNES days.
