Earlier this week we brought you the news that Gamigo's free-to-play multi-verse MMO based on Tad Williams' book series was heading into closed-beta this weekend. Well, to celebrate the CBT launch, Gamigo sent out a new gameplay trailer for the gorgeously cyberlicious MMO, Otherland, which mostly focuses on the combat.
To be honest, the combat doesn't look glowingly impressive. What's more is that the footage doesn't really explain anything about the game, so I'll take this brief bit to explain to you why Otherland is worth playing: first off the game is set in a digital multiverse. You can travel to various planets and dimensions. The style, scope, quests and aesthetics of each dimension vary and will offer players unique experiences in each scenario. Furthermore, the game enables you to collect DNA samples from objects and enemies within the game world to create your own virtual society. It's kind of cool but it's the one feature we haven't seen in any trailer yet. You can check out the CBT trailer below. Well, if the combat didn't completely turn you off and it looks interesting enough for you to check out, you can do so right now. While Gamigo is only accepting some player applicants in the weekend CBT, by registering right now you might be able get a last minute e-mail.
