Aspyr Media and Activision announced today that Guitar Hero: World Tour will be making its way to the PC and Mac. Computer owners will be able to rock out with their keyboard out starting this summer.

“Guitar Hero: World Tour is the standard for music games on consoles and we can’t wait to unleash this incredible experience on computer gamers,” said Aspyr Media's Ted Staloch. “With full band play, support for the new wireless controllers, the ability to create their own music and an amazing array of customization options, Guitar Hero: World Tour will be the definitive music game on PC and Mac. We are proud to once again be working with Activision to extend this powerful brand to an eager audience of gamers.”

Aspyr was the studio responsible for porting Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith to the PC and Mac so they've got some experience at this sort of thing. World Tour was originally released for the PS2, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 on October 26th, 2008. The PC/Mac versions will ship with the same 86 songs that appeared on the console versions.
