PS3 BioShock Gets Release Date

If you decide to dress up as a Big Daddy this Halloween, slightly less people will think you're lame. Take-Two Interactive announced today that the PC and Xbox 360 shooter BioShock would be arriving on Playstation 3 on October 21st in North America.
While 2K has stated there's will be no enhancement to the game's original graphics, there will be other, more substantial differences between the PS3 version and earlier iterations. The PS3 BioShock will have a new Survivor difficulty mode with tougher enemies and less health boosts from Vita-Chambers. The game will also feature Trophy support and it's safe to assume it will ship with the extra plasmids that were included in free patches for the PC and 360 versions. In addition, the PS3 port will have exclusive DLC called Challenge Rooms. These Challenge Rooms will "test the mettle of new and seasoned gamers by requiring them to utilize the knowledge and skills they have learned while traversing the halls of Rapture". These are stand-alone game modules that you can access from the main menu and they sound like big puzzles that force you to make creative use of your plasmids. The first Challenge Room will be available for download shortly after the game launches in October and it will be on display at the Leipzig conference later this week.
