Graphics don’t mean everything. This is proven time over with every single game that continues to fuel the Wii’s success. But in all likeness, the Wii isn’t the only one with games that happen to focus more on gaming than graphics. Naughty Dog’s latest project goes above and beyond to deliver more than just beautiful visuals.
Uncharted: Drakes Fortune is one of those rare games that really delves into the adventure of adventure gaming. It takes a little bit from the later Broken Sword games, a little bit from generic third-person shooters, and a little bit from Tomb Raider. The result is nothing short of play-worthy, and I honestly have to say that compared to other triple-A titles (i.e., Lair, Heavenly Sword, Dark Sector, &c.) Naughty Dog’s Uncharted is looking a lot more inspired by comparison.
The game contains an unprecedented atmosphere that’s rarely explored in most mainstream action games...except for that over-colorful crappiness called Far-Cry. But more importantly, Uncharted looks to have a great pacing for adventure platforming and intense shoot-outs. The only thing that might hurt the game is the Jack Bauer-power that the lead character seems to exhibit. It could take away from the experience if some Joe Schmoe is killing trained pirates as if he was shooting milk bottles with spitballs. Anyway, you can check out the exclusive HD trailer below, courtesy of Gametrailers. Enjoy.
