Last year around this time we had an article up here at Blend Games about PS3 gamers getting snubbed of Section 8. Well, all the talk of console abandonment of software and first-person shooter games has come to an end regarding TimeGate Studios' Section 8. As if the headline doesn't say it loud and clear enough, Section 8 is now available for the PlayStation 3 via PSN.

According to Robert Siwiak, Director of Production at TimeGate Studios…

“We were very receptive to press and community feedback when developing Section 8 for the PlayStation 3 system,” … “We utilized the extra development time to expand content, enhance features, and took multiple steps to guarantee PlayStation 3 system fans will not be disappointed.”

Presumably, the game should run better and look better at a fraction of the original cost that Section 8 carried for the Xbox 360 and PC. In other words, PS3 gamers are getting more game for a cheaper price. There’s certainly nothing wrong with that.

The textures, resolution and matchmaking have all been improved, along with TGNServer technology that allows for up to 32-players, which can be hosted on PCs and played through via the PlayStation 3. Is that not awesome or what?
