Don't let the letters and numbers confuse you, this is not news for the Xbox 360. And fear not, there’s no reason to be confounded dear gamers, especially PS3 gamers. You’ll soon have the opportunity to own the AX360. No, it’s not a game and it’s not a controller. It’s Tritton’s Audio Xtreme 360 Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound Headset.
There’s four fully adjustable speakers in each earcup of the headset, providing gamers with remarkable surround sound quality. Gamers can even adjust the settings to their liking, allowing for even more depth from the audio quality of the games you play. Hear bullets pass by as if you were standing in the warzone, or listen to the engines purr as you rev them up at the starting line. Every auricular experience in gaming will come to life with Tritton’s AX360. The AX360 connects to the PS3 through the optical port, and provides total audio control with inline adjustments for front, side, rear, and subwoofer. The headset even contains rumble features (something that PS3 controllers are now without). And according to the press release, Chris Von Huben, president of Tritton Technologies, commented that "Every gamer has been told to turn down the volume, which takes away from the gaming experience. With the AX360, gamers can personally experience extreme HD audio, getting the most from games or Blu-Ray movies, without bothering anyone." There’s even a removable microphone for VoIP and PC connections. The AX360 has the suggested retail price of $129.95, and the package includes support for two headsets.
