Sony has taken down the PlayStation Network for maintenance today. When PSN comes back online, it won't be accompanied by the PlayStation Store.

Maintenance will run from 8 am to 5 pm PST. During this time window, registration and account management will be inaccessible. Sony says the majority of users will be able to play online normally, though.

"For those asking about the PlayStation Store, we’re still targeting restoration of all services by the end of this month. Contrary to reports, the Store will not be publishing today," said Sony social media manager Jeff Rubenstein.

The PlayStation Store has been offline since April 20th, when the entire network was taken down by Sony. Sony shut down the network in the wake of an attack by hackers, who made off with many users' personal data. Lost revenue from the Store, as well as other costs related to the cyber-attack, have hurt Sony to the tune of $171 million.
