The next major model of the PlayStation Portable has arrived. The PSP Go can now be found at stores through North America and Europe for $250 / €249.99.

The PSP Go, in a departure from previous models, does not have a UMD drive. Instead, new games are downloaded through the game's wireless connection to the PlayStation Store. In addition to full-sized PSP games, Sony now offers "minis" (games of 100 MB or less) through the PS Store for quick and easy play. Fifteen minis are currently available for purchase.

To encourage owners of older PSP models to pick up the PSP Go, Sony had planned to offer them digital copies of any games that they had purchased on UMD. The program wasn't ready in time for the PSP Go's launch but will could be rolled out at a future date.
