A week after 2K Games announced the cover athlete for NHL 2K10, EA Sports has revealed the cover boy for their own hockey game NHL 10: Patrick Kane of the Chicago Black Hawks.

Kane is a mere 20 years old, making him the youngest player to be selected as a cover athlete for the video game franchise. Kane was the 2008 Rookie of the Year and helped his team reach the Western Conference Finals this year.

As with NHL 2K10, the cover athlete for NHL 10 varies by region. Kane will appear on the cover in North America but Washington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom will appear on the game box in Sweden. Cover athletes for Finland, Denmark and Switzerland will be named at a later date. NHL 10 will hit the PS3 and Xbox 360 in September.
