Turn-based RPG Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One sold like the proverbial hot cakes on Xbox 360, PC, Mac, and Linux and now it's coming to Sony's grand old box. The game will be available for download on PS3 later this fall.
Precipice is based on the gaming webcomic Penny Arcade and is a collaboration between Hothead Games and the webcomic's creators, Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins. In the game, the comic strip's two main characters Tycho and Gabe run a paranormal detective agency in an old-timey Lovecraft city under attack from evil forces such as mimes and fruit-humping robots. Hothead plans on releasing four episodes of Penny Arcade Adventures in total. It's currently sold digitally through Xbox Live, Steam, and Greenhouse for $20, so expect a similar price when it hits Playstation Network. Fairly steep compared to the price of other PSN/XBLA games but I'd probably pay that much just for a book of Penny Arcade comic strips. Here, you're essentially getting that plus 7-10 hours of gameplay. |
