Atlus yesterday announced that Persona 3 FES will be making an appearance in the land of the free. This is the definitive version of the game that many felt showcased why the PS2 is the home of the best RPG’s. Featuring extensive gameplay and all new content, Persona 3 FES will keep you satisfied long after you ponder the cheap price of your PS2 and the multitude of games that are now available to you. Congrats on finally picking up a PS2, by the way.

According to Atlus you will not need the original version to play FES, but if you do have save files players will be able to transfer some of them (like the Persona compendium) for use in the enhanced game. Also you’ll have access to the enhanced game from the start, and you won’t have to go find it in the game…or beat the regular version first. It’s a pain in the ass when you get new content for your title and then spend five hours exploring to find the damn stuff.

Persona 3 FES is scheduled to release on April 22nd for $29.99.
