Activision today announced that Edge of Reality is heading back into the Peruvian Jungle with Harry Pitfall. Following the fun, but too flawed to own, Pitfall: The Lost Expedition the team at EoR is moving on to the Wii. What that means is a Pitfall game with motion controls, and cutesy graphics. Mario Galaxy has proven that cartoon style graphics can be made spectacular, and capable of standing up to many title seen on PS3 or 360. So, I’m not dismissing this new Pitfall because it looks like Harry has gone on an acid trip.
“What could be more fun than using the Wii Remote™ to swing on a vine over blood thirsty crocodiles as retro-cool Pitfall Harry?!” asks Dave Oxford of Activision. And I answer: figuring out how my Wii Remote will support my weight as I attempt such a silly action. It used to be I only had to worry about putting a hole through my television, now I have t protect my keister from getting gator chomped.
Pitfall: The Big Adventure will return gamers to the classic elements of Pitfall as they jump alligators and swing on vines to solve puzzles. The game is scheduled for release this Fall.
