Want to build, create and explore your artistic side while you’re on the go? Well, soon you’ll be able to do just that with the upcoming mobile app, Pixaquarium Game Maker, which is a little like Klick-N-Play meets LittleBigPlanet.

Stuntbird Games President Dean Ruggles commented in the press release about the project and how it all started, saying…

“I was inspired to create Pixaquarium while designing Jounce,”…“My oldest daughter was bringing me drawings to put into that game. I realized that a game that was as much about creativity as play could be fun. I thought of it as active entertainment, which is new in the game world, in that Pixaquarium is all about being artistic and inventing a new world to play in.”

I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s entirely new in the game world, there are also similar games out there like Scribblenauts and Drawn to Life. It’s still a cool concept, nonetheless, and it would be the first app of its kind for mobile phone and tablet devices.

I’m also a bit curious how the whole thing plays out and it’s a little unfortunate that we didn’t get a video walkthrough of the software, but I’m sure that will arrive right before the game releases. In the meantime, rest assured that all the kinks are being worked out as the game is finishing up the beta phase and preps for release.
