Plants Vs Zombies Now Available At Retailers For PC And Mac
The fastest selling game in PopCap Games’ history is Plants Vs. Zombies. The company recently announced that the game is now available in retail outlets near you. The budget-priced title is also still available for digital download if the brick and mortar route isn’t your cup of tea.
Ben Rotholtz, vice president of Marketing at PopCap commented in the press release, saying…
“Plants vs. Zombies sold more briskly in its first 90 days of online availability than any previous game we’ve published, including Bejeweled 2, Bejeweled Twist, Bookworm Adventures and Peggle Nights,”… “In fact, our family-friendly zombie game now accounts for nine of the ten biggest-grossing single sales days in PopCap’s ten-year history, which is quite a feat given that the Bejeweled and Zuma franchises have sold more than 40 million units between them.”
In addition to the game being made available at local retailers, PopCap also announced that Plants Vs. Zombies is now being adapted for iPhone and iPod Touch users and will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade soon. The game sees players strategically purchasing and growing mutant vegetation, plants and flowers to stop the undead from trampling on the lawn. Nice.
