If you’re like me, you enjoy kick ass games with toy guitars and free stuff. Lucky for us both, Activision likes to give things away. Specifically Activision, Pontiac and Hot Topic like free prizes for adoring fans. The three have teamed up for a national promotion in honor of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The game will be making a month long national tour, and you can showcase your disgusting hammer-on skills to win a 2008 Pontiac G5. Yup, it’s not only real guitar players who get free things like alcohol, hotel stays, threesomes and cars. Now you can too.

The tour will be making 8 stops at different malls around the country. At each one there will be a qualifying event from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. The top eight will immediately had to a Semi-Final round where they will battle for a $100 Hot Topic gift card. So that you may have the proper amount of wallet chains and black lipstick to be a true misanthrope. The 8 winners will submit their high scores on an as of yet undisclosed song, and the top two advance to the finals. Those two will get a chance to play in front of Activision in Los Angeles for the grand prize, a new car.

Contestants must be 16 years of age or older, and pre-registration starts at 10:30am five days prior to the tournament date. You can visit the designated Hot Topic store to register, and you’ll have until 5:00pm the evening before the event to get in on the hot fretting action.
