PlayStation Store Comes To Amazon.comAuthor: Pete Haas

Starting today, gamers can purchase add-ons and games for their PSP and PS3 through a new section of Amazon.com. Not sure why you'd want to, but you can.
After ordering the PS Store content through Amazon, a download code is emailed to you. Amazon has been doing a similar thing with Xbox Live content since April. Two crucial differences, though: the Xbox Live section of Amazon.com doesn't offer DLC and is actually useful. Purchasing Xbox Live content typically requires you to buy odd amounts of Microsoft Points (increments of 500 Points) that don't fit with the actual prices of the content (typically increments of 400 Points). You're therefore surrendering excess money for each purchase. However, purchasing Xbox Live Arcade games through Amazon allows you to simply pay the exact amount with your credit card. With PSN, all content is priced at their actual dollar amounts regularly so there's no big advantage to using Amazon's middle man service. I guess this is a good option if you're concerned about using your credit card over PSN, though? Well, whatever. PSN on Amazon. Hurray. |
