While it may have seemed to be a PC/Xbox 360 exclusive, looks can be very deceiving. PopCap’s popular side-scrolling action game, Heavy Weapon will be heading to the PlayStation Network starting…today!

Sony Online Entertainment and PopCap recently announced that the popular indie title is currently available to all PlayStation Network users. For those of you who don’t know what this game is about, just imagine Metal Slug with a little more mayhem and four-player co-op options…and imagine that you’re always inside the tank. Anyway, it’s a really fun game that deserves a wider audience. So it’s cool to see Sony branching out and bringing in more indie titles.

An official fact sheet was also released for what the game will feature now that it’s on the PS3, so you can check that out below, along with some brand new screenshots.
