Portal was released for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. The newly announced sequel will skip the PS3 however.

Valve's Doug Lombardi confirmed to Eurogamer that the game would be released for the PC and Xbox 360. The first Portal was released as part of the Orange Box compilation for all three platforms. Seemed plausible that Portal 2 could make it to Sony's black box, too, but alas.

Development of the PS3 iteration of Orange Box was outsourced to EA and was roundly criticized for its bugs. Valve probably thought it would be best to forgo the PS3 rather than risk another shoddy port. It's the cheaper, easier option of the two.

Portal 2 is slated for a holiday release. No further information has been released about the game.
