No gaudy Collector's Edition for Left 4 Dead with a making-of DVD, art book, and Halloween make-up has been announced but there's still incentive for pre-ordering the game: it'll get you early access to the zombie co-op shooter's demo.
If you pre-order the game at Gamestop, you'll be allowed to download and play the demo starting November 6th. The early access period for the demo is said to end on November 11th, which is presumably when the non-pre-ordering masses will get their mitts on it. This offer is good for both the Xbox 360 and PC versions, by the way.
Left 4 Dead will be released on November 18th so pre-order or not, you should have a week to try the game out. Pre-ordering the game through Gamestop or Valve Software's digital distribution service Steam will also knock five dollars off the price of the game. Will the advance demo access be offered through Steam pre-orders as well? You'd think so, considering the game is being made by Valve, but we'll see.
