In case you were worried there wouldn't be anything to bitch/gloat about today on your gaming forum, here's something: Konami is exploring the idea of putting Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, the PS3 exclusive, on Xbox 360.
Calm down, they're really only "exploring" here. According to IGN, an Tokyo Game Show report by an investment firm contained the following quote from a Konami PR representative: "We're actively looking into a release for the Xbox 360."
Not exactly ironclad but hey, Internet rumors don't require much soil. Still, how would this work? This rumor about MGS4 coming to the 360 has been around for awhile now and it's been noted over and over that, absent some sort of technological wizardry, you'd need to put the game on multiple DVDs. A Blu-Ray disc has something like six times the storage capacity of a DVD. They'd have the ship the game in a goddamn lunchbox. Hideo Kojima doesn't seem all that eager to get back on the Metal Gear horse, either.
Still, in spite of these issues, this is enough to keep the rumor chugging along. Enjoy your Xbox 360/PS3 flame wars.

I've already read confirmed updates from Konami that state 'We released the game already for the PS3, we have no plans to bring it to any other platforms'.
They said the same thing about Unreal Tournment 3 when it was first announced as a PS3 exclusive, and they later said the same thing about BioShock when it was released as an Xbox 360 exclusive.
Both games later became timed exclusives. I wouldn't be surprised Konami wants some profitable returns on MGS4 and will opt for it to go multiplatform sometime next year.
They could release a 5 disc dual layer DVd package that must be preloaded onto the Xbox 360's HDD. I own both systems and I usually buy the better version. I personally don't like exclusives, and would like to see how much better or worse could the game be made on Xbox 360.
I played it already, but after beating it 3 times on different difficulties, there wasn't much left to play for in the game that I was interested in. So, I returned my Playstation 3 to Best Buy and thats that.
As for MGS4 coming to Xbox360, I'd welcome it, and I'm sure it can happen. The thing I noticed with the PS3 and the BluRay is that game developers are no longer optimizing games, with all that extra disc space they're just throwing stuff on there and filling the disc as much as possible, while this can be good, I see some bad points to it. 1. Optimization, with the PS3 the bigger games REQUIRE installations, not like on the upcoming Xbox Live update where you have the option, with games like Devil May Cry and MGS4 I had to wait through 10 minute or so installations to play it the first time, and then when I played MGS4 again it did another install for some odd reason.
If the developers would optimize the heck out of their games rather than not care because they have enough room perhaps PS3 games wouldn't require installations. And with MGS4, I know that those cutscenes look very good and beautiful in full HD, but If they had just bumped it down maybe to h.264 codec I think they'd still look pretty darn good without taking up all the space on the disc. I mean, I can't cite any sources but I'm just taking a guess that most of the space of the BluRay was taken up by the HD video not the game assets.
Look at Halo 3, with the replay mode, not much is taken up because it's being rendered in real time each time you watch your replay rather than being recorded in HD like a cutscene. Something like this would have saved so much space on the MGS4 BluRay.
So, if they just tone down the pre-rendered HD cutscenes odds are they could fit the game on a dual layer dvd or at least cut it down to maybe 1-2 DVD's instead of 6 or so
So a message to game developers is OPTIMIZE OPTIMIZE OPTIMIZE. I mean take a look at GTA 4, they fit that on a Xbox360 DVD and they fit it on a Sony BluRay disc, now I'm willing to bet they didn't fill up the whole BlueRay disc with that game because everything in the PS3 version is in the 360 version and they both look exactly the same give or take the brightness settings.lol. If they did, I'm wondering what the heck is taking so much space on that version versus the other since they are the same game in every way.
XBOX 360 IS THE BEST SYSTEM KNOWN TO BOTH MAN, THE GODS AND THE HEAVENS AND THE PS3 COFFIN DOESNT EVEN STAND A CHANCE BEFORE THE ALMIGHT MICROSOFT CONSOLE...
This website is so very pro-Sony that I wonder if any valid arguments to or for any other platform can really exist here. I say that everyone stop reading from this site because you aren't getting balanced news.
