Today BioWare disclosed another planet that will appear in Star Wars: The Old Republic. It's Alderaan, the planet perhaps best known for being wtfpwned in Episode 4.

Though once a stalwart member of the Galactic Republic, Alderaan has seceded by the time this game begins. They were unhappy with the Republic's decision to sign a treaty with the Sith Empire. Shortly afterward, the crown prince of Alderaan was executed and the planet was plunged into a civil war. Though the Empire and Republic aren't directly fighting on the planet, they're working behind the scenes to ensure that the noble house of their choice ascends to the throne.
