Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands Announced For Consoles And Handhelds Apparently early 2010 is the hip time to release a new game. Ubisoft announced today that Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands will arrive on May 2010.

Forgotten is slated to be released on "consoles and handhelds." The brief press release also mentions that the game contains a mixture of "fan-favorite elements" and "new gameplay innovations." That's all they say, though.

The game is a return to the Sands of Time storyline from the last generation of consoles. It's probably no coincidence that the Jake Gyllenhaal film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is due out in May as well. What's interesting is that it means they're temporarily shelving the reboot storyline introduced in last year's game.

Update: GameTrailers TV host Geoff Keighley stated on his Twitter that the game's world premiere will take place at the 2009 Spike VGA's.
