In the battle of the super hero action games, it seems Prototype is besting inFamous. According to research firm EEDAR, Prototype is projected to outsell its competitor by 90% (via Gamasutra).

The reason is pretty simple: inFamous is a PS3 exclusive while Prototype was released for the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360. The numbers look better if you just look at how the games matched up in PS3 sales. inFamous is projected to sell 35% more on the PS3, a lead that could grow to 50% given the traditionally longer lifespan of platform exclusives.

Even if more copies of Prototype were sold, it's possible the game didn't earn as much given the extra costs involved with bringing a game to multiple platforms. Still, both Activision and Sony have something to brag about here. Activision can tout the overall sales, while Sony can note that when given a choice between the two games, more PS3 owners chose inFamous. This is all assuming, of course, that these companies were looking at this whole situation as a direct competition in the first place.
