When Zenimax Media purchased id Software earlier in the year, it was said that EA would remain the publisher for id's upcoming game RAGE. Well, that's changed.
Zenimax announced today that id's sister company Bethesda will publish it instead. EA will no longer be involved in any aspects of the game's marketing or sales. "The ongoing development of RAGE is unaffected by this development," adds the press release.
When a publisher buys a studio, generally they take the reins of that studio's upcoming games. If you'll recall, Champions Online's original publisher was 2K Games but that changed once Cryptic Studios was bought by Atari.
