It's always fun when an interviewee craps on other games. R.U.S.E. producer Mathieu Girard doesn't quite do that but he does offer up a theory as to why the real-time strategy genre is on the decline.
"I would say the lack of innovation is a true problem and that was we tried to solve," Girard told UGDB in an interview. "Of course there is also a shift to the console market, and we will be there as well, though not at the expense of the PC version depth."
Girard added: "In the case of RUSE, we have tried crazy stuff, dropped some features, and tried 3 iterations (sometimes) to find the right feature. But I think we now have an edge in the renewal of the RTS genre."
Well, what did you expect him to do? Undersell the game? R.U.S.E. arrives in the second quarter of 2010, according to Girard.
