Ray Reid's Xevicom Forever To Become FPS For PC

published: 2009-10-30 11:39:40
Developed internally at Xevicom studios, the upcoming FPS based on the cult graphic novel by Ray Reid will be called Xevicom Unlimited and is due out in 2010, exclusively for PC. The project definitely sounds interesting but the real question is whether the game can live up to the quality storytelling in Reid’s original work.

According to the press release…
The game play in Xevicom Unlimited will focus on narrative driven action with a wide selection of heavy weaponry, intelligent enemy AI and exploration of the eponymous city. Indeed, exploration will be a key tactic as the game will feature a semi-open world layout that will allow players to tailor their gaming experience, whilst dealing with the moral dilemmas of vigilantism.

Xevicom Unlimited will take place after the events of the graphic novel and will feature brand new characters, events and a story penned by Ray Reid himself. The game itself is set in a crime ridden city where vigilantism and criminal activity run rampant, with the player's character, Prophet, trying to set things straight. In a way, this project reminds me a lot of Deus Ex and The Watchmen

Anyway, the graphic novel is currently available for digital download on PC with a PSP version coming soon. The game is due out in early 2010. You can learn more about Xevicom by visiting the Official Website.
