Conspiracy Entertainment and Epicenter Studios have recently announced that Real Heroes: Firefighters is coming this summer, exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. What’s more is that the game is actually all about helping real firefighters.
"We wanted to try to give back to these brave women and men who put their lives on the line every day to keep the public safe," said Nathaniel McClure, CEO of Epicenter Studios. "This is our attempt to bring recognition and support to a wonderful organization that not only supports firefighters battling cancer but also aggressively promotes prevention and early detection."
This first-person shooter offers plenty of hazardous challenges as players face off against one of nature’s deadliest weapons. The game will be a team-based, story-driven experience, complete with a cast of voice-actors. For a Wii game that actually sounds kind of impressive.
There was no mention of whether a new engine was used for manipulating or creating fire scenarios. However, the press release did indicate that no two fire encounters would be the same, thanks to the development team receiving first-hand input from a real life firefighting team.
Real Heroes: Firefighters will also donate a percentage of the game’s proceeds to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network. So it’s not just about buying a game and having fun but it’s also in an effort to support a real life cause for something positive.
