Cryptic Studios is giving gamers a chance to try out Champions Online's newest features without spending a dime. They plan to hold a free play period before the month is out.

From March 26th at 10 a.m. PDT until March 29th at 10 a.m., the super hero MMO will be free to play for new and former players alike. There are no restrictions on content during this free trial. You can preload the files now so that you'll be good to go as soon as March 26th rolls around.

The free weekend will coincide with the release of Revelation, a free expansion pack. Revelation adds new locations, powers, and more. It's expected to go live next week.
