XSeed Games has announced today that the highly anticipated 3D fighter from SNK Playmore has gone gold for the Xbox 360. This will mark the eleventh game in the series and features a move forward in both HD visuals and the advancement of character evolution by introducing new period-specific fighters, including a gun-slinging cowboy.

To this day the best of the series has been Samurai Shodown 3, followed by Samurai Shodown 4. They were super hard games but contained some of the best, dynamic sprite-based fighting featured in a game during that era. Hopefully Samurai Shodown Sen will capitalize on the high-points of the series while being innovative enough to spark revitalization in the dying fighter genre.
