The Realm Brings Thematic Point-And-Click Action To PC
A new game has surfaced on Kickstarter promising more point-and-click action. It's a throwback to a bygone era with new-school mechanics and theatrics, hearkening back to games like Legend of Kyrandia in charm and personality, but combining large-scope gameplay found in games like The Last of Us and Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom.
Running on everyone's favorite engine for Kickstarter projects, Unity 3D, The Realm is aiming to become a new-age classic but they can't do it alone and they're looking for a little crowd-funding help via Kickstarter.
I can't say that the game doesn't have any competition in the genre, because a lot of games being Kickstarted or appearing on Steam's Greenlight actually are of the old-school point-and-click nature. However, if the music is tight, if the gameplay is smooth and if the story is engaging enough, The Realm just might find itself among the digital shelves of distribution portals at the end of its run, if it's successfully Kickstarted.
Given that the pledge video above doesn't really get into the nitty gritty of the game's design, you can check out a behind-the-scenes design video of how the levels and characters come together in the Unity Engine with the video below.
If you like what you see and you like what Atomhawk Design is aiming to accomplish, you can pledge funds to the project right now over on the Kickstarter page.
