Record Of Agarest War 2 Coming To North America, Europe, Summer 2012
Localization teams are hard at work this very moment, putting in long hours to translate and dub the voicing of the popular Japanese RPG, Record of Agarest War 2, which is scheduled to release to Westerners for the PS3 next summer.
The story for the game is pretty simple: a gateway opens up, the world goes all post apocalyptic, anime style, demons flood the land, players have to put some boots to demon butts and restore a little peace and order. Well, there's a bit more to it than that, it actually goes a little further with the characters, as stated in the press release...
A young man by the name of Weiss, who had lost all memory of himself, encounters an enigmatic woman named Eva, who introduces herself as an Agent of the Divine. It is from her that Weiss learns that he has committed the grievous sin of deicide, and that in order for him to atone for his crime he is to become the "Vessel" in which the power of the divinity he had slaughtered will be stored. For it will be that power that will be used to resurrect the one whose life he stole.
Developed by Idea Factory, Compile Heart and Red Entertainment, Record of Agarest War 2 uses an active grid battle system, and is more like a strategy-RPG than a standard-fare turn-based RPG. The series has become indubitably infamous for the risqué images and tantalizing, CG drawings featured in the game.
The game's heavy reliance on double entendres, as well as misleading images (such as the notorious picture of the two girls eating a double ended banana) has easily put Record of Agarest in a league of its own.
