Mirror's Edge, the upcoming action adventure game by Battlefield developer DICE, will arrive in stores on November 11th. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, anyway. Wait, what about the PC? Err, yeah...funny thing about that.
It seems the PC version's release has been pushed back into sometime later this winter. That's right, they don't even tell you the month. No mention of whether PC users will get a playable demo of the game, either - which is exactly what will be coming to Xbox Live and PSN sometime before the game launches. Starting next Friday, September 26th, players who pre-order Mirror's Edge through select retailers will receive an exclusive code that unlocks a Time Trial mode for the demo. In Time Trial mode, players must race through a level as quickly as possible. They can then upload their best times to online leaderboards. The best part of this is that you'll be able to download other player's "best runs" and compete against them; as you're running through the level on a time trial, you'll see the "ghost" of this other player navigating the course. Presumably this mode will also be included in the full version of the game. Mirror's Edge is a first-person perspective game in which players control Faith, a courier in a futuristic police state who must evade the authorities to deliver the covert information she carries. The E3 trailer below shows off the game's gorgeous graphics and the blend of platformer and FPS gameplay that has kept us intrigued ever since the game was announced. |
