Capcom released a new trailer for Resident Evil: Revelations to highlight and showcase the game's super-hard Infernal Mode. When we talk about video game difficulty, this is one of those modes that actually adds replay value to the experience and shows that Capcom may actually be in it to win it.
The company really fell flat on their face in 2012 with some of the most blatant money-grubbing financial enhancement schemes that would make Donald Trump shake his head in shame. From disc-locked content to trying to chase Call of Duty's sales by adding in a whole lot of Michael Bayism to their products, it's safe to say that Capcom fell off the wagon and fell hard.
Well, they're hoping to rectify their misdeeds and they're on the route of recourse by focusing on making a good game and they're doing so with Resident Evil: Revelations for home consoles and PC. One of the new additions to this re-release is the Infernal Mode, which adds a whole new level of replayability to the game. Check it out below.
This is the kind of difficulty and challenge modes that used to shape games back in the day. Remember in titles like Perfect Dark on the N64 or Code Name Eagle, where the extra difficulty really changed the play experience into something completely different? Well, it looks like that's what Capcom is aiming for with Resident Evil: Revelations and this really could pay off for them in the long run.
I'm just hoping that if RE: Revelations turns out to be a success on consoles and PC, Capcom doesn't go back to their old ways of finding ways to screw people over. That would royally suck.
