A strategy, fighting, card-battling online multiplayer simulator is not a genre you come across often. Nevertheless, Veil Entertainment’s Rise & Ruin fits the aforementioned description and it’s currently in open-beta. Fancy giving the game a try? Geoffrey MacDougall, CEO of Veil Entertainment commented in the press release, saying…

“We’re excited to get the Open Beta launched,” …. “We’ve worked hard to build an experience that combines the best of our favourite genres to provide character-driven, fast-paced game play. The guys on our live team are also eager to start implementing the storyline and tournaments they’ve developed over the last several months.”

This game is actually really cool, insofar that a player can build up their virtual deck of cards to increase their skills, magic, defense and power, but also form alliances to grow even stronger. Players who buddy-up and share their decks with other players can ultimately work to over-power other player alliances and seek to dominate the game.

Rise & Ruin features four playable races, lots of customizable features and 3D bouts that all take place within your browser. Yep, it’s browser-based.
