Tired of all that loud, rootin’ tootin’ rock music blasting from your Rock Band game? Well get in line this December (virtually in line, of course) to be the first to download Rock Band’s new track pack “Going Country”. Harmonix and MTV will release the content on December 18th. Here’s the track list:

• Brad Paisley “Mud on the Tires”
• Brooks & Dunn “Hillbilly Deluxe”
• Dierks Bentley “Free & Easy (Down the Road I Go)”
• Dixie Chicks “Sin Wagon”
• Miranda Lambert “Gunpowder & Lead”

You can buy individual songs for $2 or pay $8.50 for all five. I’m no country fan but I think this is a step in the right direction. How sweet would it be to do a Rock Band Jazz Edition for really advanced players or maybe a Rock Band Bluegrass with a sweet banjo controller! Okay maybe not, but it is good to see that Harmonix is broadening their horizons and this could be the start of a series of different genre-themed games.
