Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken Launches On Vita Next Week
Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken is finally blasting off onto the PlayStation Vita, bringing some rather cool new features along for the ride. If you missed out on this action adventure when it released last year for the PlayStation 3, or just want to take all of that jetpaction (jetpack + action) on the go, you can grab this one off of PSN come Feb. 12.
Producer Sian Yue Tan recently visited the PlayStation Blog to talk about Rocketbirds, a title that has already been tearing up the charts in Asia since late last year.
The core gameplay remains the same from the PlayStation 3 version of the game. In single player, you'll take control of Hardboiled Chicken, a tough-as-nails mother-clucker who knows his way around a wide array of weaponry. In order to take down the violent penguin nation that actually made Hardboiled into the soldier he is today, he'll have to fall back on pistols, machine guns, grenades and even bugs that allow him to control enemy soldiers.
Rocketbirds for the Vita will sport a separate co-op campaign that has players controlling a pair of Budgie Commandos, each with their own weaponry. These little soldiers are on a quest to save the presidents daughter and can do so in either ad-hoc or infrastructure mode.
Along with some spiffy new knife maneuvers for the extra hard difficulty and a cool shifting landscape that simulates the original game's 3D presentation via the Vita's gyroscopes, those who already own Rocketbirds on the PS3 will receive a discount on the Vita version. Also, playing the demon on the PS3 and/or owning the console version will unlock up to two new heroes for the co-op missions.
Jetpacks, mind-controlling insects, a full arsenal and both a single player and co-op campaign will be crash-landing on the PlayStation Vita when Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken takes off on Feb. 12.
