You’re going to have to get yourself calm before I report the following bit of news. Well, only if you’re a lover of good music. Last year we spent a good amount of time reporting on how the Beatles were possibly, maybe, could happen, going to show up in digital distribution channels after years of being shy to the format. It all went back and forth for a long time until finally things started to happen with Paul McCartney’s music arriving on iTunes. So, the rumor coming through the tubes that representatives of the group’s library are in talks with both Activision and MTV Games to make an appearance in Guitar Hero and/or Rock Band is exciting. Exciting and a little unbelievable.

This news comes from The Financial times who maintain that some sort of deal could happen within weeks. The article talks about some sort of “Beatles-themed video game,” but we have no idea what that could really mean. For all we know this is the second coming of Moonwalker and we’ll be having tangerine dreams as we fire torpedoes from our yellow submarine.

Considering the Beatles library still isn’t up at iTunes, or anywhere digitally at the moment, take this rumor with a heaping helping of salt.
